Lewis provided a modular heavy metal removal package and carbon
reprocessing service to treat a
cyanide bearing demineralized rinse waste stream containing silver,
copper and nickel. This rinse
stream was generated from a high speed electroplating line. The
cyanide is catalytically destructed
on the GAC without the need of any chemicals. The effluent is
recycled to the process and has
reduced the clients water purchases by 50%. The estimated system
pay back was less than eight (8)
months.
